DIRECTIONS FOR USE: It is a violation of federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. Non-Agricultural Use Requirements: The requirements in this box apply to uses of this product that are NOT within the scope of the Worker Protection Standard for agricultural pesticides (40 CFR Part 170). The WPS applies when this product is used to produce agricultural plants on farms, forests, nurseries, or greenhouses. Keep children and pets out of the treated area until sprays have dried. PRODUCT INFORMATION: This product is a ready-to-use insecticide which provides effective control against crawling and flying insect pests and plant parasitic mites. Surfaces treated with this product will control flying insect pests when they land on the treated surface. This product is a mechanical insect killer. When applied as a wettable powder using standard application equipment, it adheres to the outer surface of the target substrate. Contact with an insect pest or mite results in the static transfer of a few particles of this product which absorb the protective lipid layer necessary for their survival. As a result, the insect will desiccate. Insect pests and mites will not become immune to this product’s mode of action. Insect pests that come in contact or ingest this powder will die within 48 hours. This product is for use in and around residential, commercial, and agricultural buildings, structures, and their immediate surroundings. This product is intended for application using commercially available hand dusters, power dusters, or other suitable means for application to areas where insect pests are found. This product can be applied as a wettable powder (WP). WP treatments are intended for both indoor and outdoor applications and can be applied in a targeted manner. Wettable Powder Mixing Instructions: Fill the spray tank with water and add the recommended rate of this product to match the spray tank application acreage and mix to ensure dispersion. Add optional non-ionic surfactant according to label rate. Notes: The recommended maximum addition rate of this product to water is 1.65 lbs per gallon. Non-ionic surfactants are used to improve spreading on hydrophobic surfaces. It is advised to mix this solution directly prior to spraying and apply the entire batch within 8 hours. This product will settle if left undisturbed for more than 1 hour; therefore, mix prior to restarting the application. When proper coverage is obtained, a visible white residue will be apparent on the treated surface. RESIDENTIAL USES INDOOR AND OUTDOOR APPLICATIONS: In living areas, make applications in such a manner as to avoid deposits on exposed surfaces or introducing the material into the air. Application as a wettable powder will facilitate a targeted application. Treat a small area of the surface to be treated and look for staining or other adverse reactions before making regular application. WETTABLE POWDER MIXING INSTRUCTIONS PER ONE GALLON CONTAINER: Fill the container with water and add 1 lb of this product. Close and shake the container for 15 seconds to disperse the product. Carefully decant into a handsprayer, pressurize, and apply a single, even coat to the target area. To apply this product directly into cracks and crevices, use a bulbous duster or other suitable equipment. Apply lightly and uniformly to infested areas. The amount of product to be applied will vary with the site but should usually be in the range of 2-5 oz./100 square feet applied as either a dust or wettable powder. INDOOR USE: Lightly coat a thin layer of this product in areas where target pests are found and may hide such as cracks and crevices, behind and beneath refrigerators, cabinets, stoves, garbage cans, and in and around sewer pipes and drains, window frames, and in attics and basements. Dust insects directly if possible. Repeat treatment if the product is inadvertently removed. The amount of product applied will vary with the site but should usually be in the range of 2-5 oz./100 square feet. Fleas: Thoroughly treat floor and bedding in and around pets’ sleeping quarters. RESTRICTIONS Use of this product indoors is prohibited. Apply only to voids outside of the home. This product is for use in outside voids of buildings and in-ground or above ground nests to kill bees, wasps, yellow jackets, and hornets. Use only when it is not windy. Do not apply this product in a way that will contact any person or pet, either directly or through drift. Keep children and pets out of the area during application. Do not allow people or pets to enter the treated area until dusts have settled. Do not eat any honey taken out of the wall after bees have been killed. Do not cut container to expose contents. This container is non-refillable APPLICATION DIRECTIONS To kill bees, wasps, yellow jackets, hornets, carpenter bees. Bees, wasps, yellow jackets and hornets can attack savagely. When attempting to kill these pests cover exposed body parts. Wear long-sleeved shirt, long pants, shoes and socks, veil, and household latex or rubber gloves when applying this product. Persons who are especially sensitive to insect stings should not apply this product. Treatment is best done at dusk when activity around the nest site is at a minimum. Honey Bees: Honey bees are beneficial insects and must not be indiscriminately killed. Application must only be done where there is an immediate threat to people and their pets. Consider contacting an experienced beekeeper to determine if a swarm or nest of honey bees can be saved and relocated. Locate the brood nest or center of the colony by listening with ear to the wall outside of the home or use another listening device to determine where the buzzing and clicking sounds are the loudest. Drill a 1/4” hole into that section of the wall from the outside and push the drill bit on through to clear a hole into the brood area. Insert the nozzle of the APICIDE® dispenser into the 1/4” hole and squeeze the dispenser to apply three to five ounces of APICIDE® into the brood area. Seal the drilled hole immediately after treatment with wood putty, plaster patch, or other impervious material. Allow 72 hours for APICIDE® to completely kill the colony. Once the bees are killed, the wall void in which they have been nesting should be opened and the comb removed. If not, the untended honey may seep through the walls and attract other pests. Carpenter Bees: Locate each entrance hole. Insert the nozzle of the APICIDE® dispenser into the opening and squeeze the dispenser to apply APICIDE® directly into the opening and as deep into the tunnel as possible. Do not plug up the holes immediately. Allow the bees to pass through the entrance where they will contact the dust and distribute it into the galleries. Wait until all carpenter bee activity ceases or until autumn before sealing the hole(s). Use caulking or wood putty to seal openings and then paint, stain, or varnish wood surfaces. Yellow Jackets, Wasps: Locate the entrance hole used by these pests by observing their activity and flight patterns during the daytime. Treatment is best done at dusk or later when activity around the nest is at a minimum. Approach the opening to the nest cautiously. Use background lighting if possible. Do not hold a flashlight or spot light in your hands. Lighting should be set and focused on the nest opening from a distance and off to the side. From the outside of the building insert the nozzle of the APICIDE® dispenser into the entrance hole and squeeze the dispenser to apply three to five ounces of APICIDE® into the opening. Allow 72 hours for APICIDE® to completely kill the colony. After all activity has ceased seal opening with wood putty, caulking or other impervious material. Hornets: (Aerial Nest – tan to gray in color and are completely enclosed except for the entrance at the bottom): Locate the entrance hole used by these pests by observing their activity and flight patterns during the daytime. Treatment is best done at dusk or later when activity around the nest is at a minimum. Approach the opening to the nest cautiously. Use background lighting if possible. Do not hold a flashlight or spot light in your hands. Lighting should be set and focused on the nest opening from a distance and off to the side. Insert the nozzle of the APICIDE® dispenser into the opening at the bottom of the nest and squeeze the dispenser to apply three to five ounces of APICIDE® into the opening. Allow 72 hours for APICIDE® to completely kill the colony. After all activity has ceased the nest may be removed. Place nest in a plastic garbage bag and discard in the trash.
