Understanding Our Limits: When Bee & Wasp Removal Isn’t Possible

Rockland Bee Removal

As professional bee and wasp removers, we get calls every day from homeowners concerned about insects on their property. While we understand that any bee or wasp sighting can be stressful, it’s important to know that not every situation is something we can resolve with a removal service. Here’s a clear explanation of what we can help with—and what falls outside our control.

Scenario 1: Bees or Wasps Visiting Flowers, Food, or Wooden Surfaces

Many homeowners call because bees or wasps are frequently visiting flowers, picnic tables, or even an unpainted wooden deck. While alarming, these situations do not involve a specific nest we can remove. Bees are naturally attracted to flowers, while wasps are drawn to meat, sugary drinks, and decaying wood, which they use for nesting material. There isn’t a safe or practical way to “remove” insects that are simply foraging, especially since the nest may be far from your property. In these cases, we can provide guidance on deterrents or preventive measures, but professional removal isn’t applicable.

Scenario 2: Sealed Nests With Indoor Wasp Activity

Sometimes a nest is sealed while still active. While this may seem like a solution, homeowners often experience wasps entering their home afterward. Once a nest is sealed off from the original entry point, we cannot safely access it. Wasps inside walls can crawl through tiny cracks, making it nearly impossible to trace their exact path indoors. In these situations, treating the original nest site isn’t feasible, and stopping the insects completely can be extremely difficult.

What We Need to See to Help You

For a successful removal, we need:
• A visible, accessible nest or specific entry point
• A clear understanding of the insect type and location
• Safe access to the area where the insects are actively nesting

If these conditions aren’t met, our professional removal services may not be effective, and attempting a removal would likely be unsuccessful.

Our Goal

Our mission is to safely relocate honeybees and remove nuisance wasp nests whenever possible. We also want to help homeowners understand the limitations of our work so that expectations are clear from the start. Even when a removal isn’t possible, we can provide guidance on minimizing encounters and preventing future nesting areas.
